I just bought a 97 wrangler with an aftermarket hardtop on it, i think it started out as a soft top with soft upper doors, but now has the factory door surrounds, an aftermarket hardtop and fiberglass upper half doors with the factory lower half doors. Can I buy a soft top including the hardware from a 04' wrangler and make it work on my jeep? I heard some stuff about them changing top designs in 03' or something. Can someone straighten this out for me?

Welcome to the board. Where in Wisconsin are you? I believe most of the after market soft tops have the availabilty of the bows and such seeing as most do not use the factory bows/hardware. As far as using the top from a 04' I don't see why it wouldn't work but if available I would test fit it first just to make sure your not wasting your money.

Won't work. They changed the header on the 03's and up.
