Okay, I'll bite. We're dreamin' here, so we can invent parts as we go. With that in mind, I'm going for the ultimate street legal mud racer. We'll start with a Hardbody shell (fiberglass bedsides & front clip) & squeeze in a 4.5L Infinity V-8. Naturally, I'll have to be bored & stroked to at LEAST 5 litres, & the compression needs to be around 13:1. The cam will be just mild enough to pull 15" of vacuum at 800 RPM's - probably talkin' 400-450 HP. We'll have a 4-speed automatic geared 2.25:1, 1.50:1, 1.00:1, .75:1. The T-case will be a light-weight, aluminum cased, gear driven unit (like the old Toyota T-case) weighing about 40 lbs & geared 2.00:1 in low (better for durability). Front axle is going to be a solid Dana 44 & the rear a Dana 50 - 4-wheel discs. The front will be open & the rear will have a Detroit - both geared 5.13:1. Suspension will be coils & 4-link in the front with long leaf springs in the rear & the truck should have sort of a droopy look to the rear suspension. Fenders will be opened to make room for the tires & the whole thing will be kept as low as possible to the ground. Tires will be Q78's - TSL's or Buckshots in the front & Boggers in the rear. No, make that 36X9.50's in the front with the same tread pattern as the 34" TSL. We'll want a wheelbase around 105-110", regular cab with a pair of lightweight buckets, a cage, & 5-point harnesses. Manual rack & pinion steering, crank windows, heat & a/c optional. No frills, no extras, no tailgate, radio, or rear bumper. 15X7 carbon fiber rims with beadlocks should about round out the entire package. Weight needs to be below 3,400 lbs. That oughta 'bout do it, I guess /wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif
