Do you run beadlocks with your SX\'s or IROKs?

My next tire is probably going to be Swamper SX's, 36x12.5R15.
Who runs them without beadlocks? I don't really want to get beadlocks since they are not road legal. This is not a daily driver and I should have a trailer by the time I switch tires.
Another option would be for the 36" IROKs (bias ply) but they are taller and wider than the 36" SX's.

So, if I run either of these without beadlocks will I have bead problems?

who says beadlocks arent legal?
they actually do start with a rim that has a DOT stamp, and there are no laws stsating you can't modify your rim. in either case, I have never heard anyone having any trouble running beadlocks on the street.....especially with all the "wannabe" beadlocks out there now.

in any case.... I like the sx better than the irok, but I havent seen enough of the irok to say for sure. the 38 sx's are notorious for not balancing, but the 36's are better.

I just got 2 fix-it tickets from jerkoff CHPs up here on HWY50 near the rubicon. He ticketed me for what he coould find, mud flaps, windshield... if my beadlocks were illegal he sure as hell would have ticketed them or atleast said something to me about them... He didn't say a word, and I have HummerBeadlocks so theres bolts sticking out of my rims all over.

Get em, yeah it's all a big rumor about the legality. I blew a ton of beads when i was running 32" sx's on 15x7's.

what if you cant afford the beadlock rims? will they still hold the bead ok without them? Im basicly looking at doing the same thing but dont have the $$$ to fork out for the locks especialy after paying for the tires.

I have two runs on my new combo of hummer locks and 38.5 SX's; these tires hook up much better than my old MTR's did in the rocks. I take them down to 4 psi and they wrap around the rocks and spit em out. I am very happy with the combo.

It's not that big of a deal, i'd also run real low pressures and after i blew a bead i'd reseat it with out cleaning off the bead and having little bead leaks. I bet the bigger tires hold beads better. I had a buddy that had 33's and he didn't blow any beads.

I havn't run 36's, just 32's and the person that ran my tires after i did also had issues with bead leaks and blowing beads. Many people run them without locks. I'd get them and then get onboard air or wheel with people with onboard air. It's not that big of a deal to reseat a bead and you can drive on an sx with almost no air in it with out a problem.

I have three friends that ran or are running either the tls's or the boggers in 33" and they havent blown a bead yet. I dont think they air down below 10 lbs of pressure though.

lots of people chiming in on this post, but I feel like the answer has not really been hit on very hard.
The answer to your question, can you use your current rims with your new tires is YES you can. Keep in mind that tires are designed to be used without beadlocks.
My advise to you would be this. Get your new tires, put them on your current rims. Have fun wheeling with them, don't run them at less than 10 Psi. If after some trail time you feel you need beadlocks... Then you may look into it. for now, get the tires you want, and save the moeny on rims.
