Just how do you weld a front diff.?do You have to have a limited slip or other?

Do not weld the front diff! If you want the front locked get a locker, but not a lincon locker! I have a lincon locker in the back of my samurai (welded) and it works great.. all you need to do is weld the spider gears togeather. Get it done by a professional otherwise it will break.

When an air locker is locked both axles will always turn at the same speed just like a spool ar a lincoln. Most folks only lock the front ARB for a short time when the situation calls for it. HTH

Do they make spools for the sammy? I have never seen one, but I have heard great things about them when they where used on other trucks!

Just to clear up that that you've never heard of anyone who liked welded diffs. I have a scout with lincoln lockers f/r and wouldn't trade them for a set of lockers if they were free and installed. But it has d44's and they can handle the stress much better then a samurai front axle

88 Samurai, 16 V EFI motor, Dana 44's, 36" Swampers, ARB and Detroit
lockers, custom drop arms, GRS II, 5.38 r&p, Warn 8000, custom bumpers,
leather seats & lots more.

Thanx a lot! That sux they dont have spools available..but I do know people who do that stuff and I will talk to them cause I have heard some great things about spools! Would anyone be interested if they could start a line of spools??
