Hope all had/are having a Happy Holiday. Two questions: what size bolts are used to hold the 3rd into the housing? and I am trying to remove the glass from 2 doors to make 1/2 doors and although I have the weather stripping out I can't seem to get it out. Any suggestions? Thanks. Jim

Maybe I am overlooking the obvious...but you have to remove the door panel and there are, if I remember correctly, two screws that have to be loosened on the bottom of the glass. there is a metal piece that clamps to the glass along the bottom that has two screws in it. Once these screws are loosened, your glass should be free.

Loose Screw who\'s a Bolt-Challenged Nut

Well, it's nice to see I am not the only one who is a certifiable "Loose Screw who's a Bolt-Challenged Nut."

I feel a lot like Forrest Gump sometimes when it comes to Zuki metric nuts and bolts. I even recently bought a "Mystery Metric Thread Decoder" at Harbor Freight. No, it's not in their catalog under that listing. But it sure helps me, myself and Forrest, my Dear Buddy.

If I had a wish list for the Net, it would be a website that would have a "kick a**" search function relating to the "nuts and bolts" of Zuki-Dom. You could type in any part ID (or official Suzuki part#) and it would tell you the part's "fastener specs."

Wouldn't that be cool?

I think Rockrat was actually referring to the thread and pitch of the bolt. When you go to buy them you don't go by the hex head size. The bolt will have a bigger head, ya dig?

Yep, 8x1.25x25mm class 8.8's . If you ever need to helicoil one of those bolt holes, I'd seriously suggest using some very high strength locktite , just a tad so the helilcoil doesn't slip . Go ahead, ask me a bolt size on any part of a zuk....

Sarge, that might be tricky if it were a different vehicle. They are by far the most simple vehicles to work on (And I owned a vw beetle!) After taking apart a few and putting a few together I could probably do the same...
