the roll bar ties into the frame differently on 80 & later cj-7's. It drops down just infront of the wheel wells, but on the older cj-7's the roll bar rests entirely on top of the wheel well. Thats the easest way to tell. I just ordered a dayster kit for my 80 and I'll be installing it next weekend.

I got mine about two weeks ago from Four Wheel Drive Hardware. They have CJ kits for about $99. They were the best deal I could find, and their service can't be beat. My YJ kit was like $119 or so. Plus, they were the only place I could find that offered the kit in black or red (most places only have black). I've replaced some of my other bushings with red poly ones, so now they all match. I was really impressed with daystar's quality and fit. Now I'm looking at their shackles and main spring eye bolts with the same poly bushings and greasable bolts. Hope this helps! Happy Jeepin'!
