i just got a dana 60 rear out of a fullsize truck, 8 lug hubs for a great
price, free. i know it will have to be narrowed, and the sring mounts
moved, my main concern is where do i go to get it narrowed for my cj-7
thanks for any help

I've just move to PA and don't know anywhere close. i would find some local drag racers/speed shops and ask them. (they have been narrowing rear ends along time)
an option to the costly narrowing of a housing and new axle shafts might be custom offset wheels, (this depends on how wide your "fullsize axle" is and the brake drums) they can be bought new or made. this link is to mine http://www.geocities.com/yj3qtr_ton/dana60.html
and this is a picture of the inside of my 10" wheel with 7" of backspacing

There are a couple of shops in the Harrisburg, pa area.
R.V. 4 wheel drive center in Mechanicsburg, Pa
Houcks 4 Wheel drive shop in I believe Wellsville, pa

I have done Bussiness with the shop in Mechanicsburg, Pa and they treated me well and I liked what they did.

If they don't do it they will know somebody who does. It might be worth the 100 or so from philly if they can do it for you.

I got a price on shortening an axle and it was $150 for the tubes and the shafts shortened and replined. Look for a shop that can respline axles or they won't be able to to it. Also I found that a lot of shops wouldn't do the job because they said it was for "liability reasons".
