I got my axles from the Junkyard Monday. The rear is from a '86 GW, and the front it from a '84 GW, both have selec-track with 2, 4, hi, & low levers. The rear is definately a D44, but the front has a strangle differential housing. It looks like a D44, but with a big box on one side, and a post rising from that with some vacume terminal on top. AllData says this is something a-kin to the Wrangler's Dana 30 front-axle vacume disconect. So is this a totally different axle, or just a modified D44? Can that extra space be useful (like if I wanted to put an ARB locker in the front) or a PITA? Thanks in advance everyone!
