OK, here's one for you wiring guys...

My highbeam indicator is always on regardless of whether or not the headlights are on or not. The light stays on even if I unplug the indicator switch and pull the headlight fuses (or even all the fuses). The only time they go out is if I unplug BOTH headlight plugs at the headlight. This got worse today when this short made the dash clock die... Anyone got any ideas where I should begin?

Also, I'm curious if pre and post 88.5 wiring harness are the same... I can't remember if they are or not...

My brain is full - can I go home now?

Pauly, Can't give you a direct answer, but if it will help and if I have one left, I have the wiring diagram enlarged to poster size so even old folks like me can see them........ If you want it I'll check to see that I actually have one left and send it to you......

Oops, I forgot to mention that I have a short finder and if you want to borrow it, you are more than welcome.....

I would check the ground on the column as well as the combo switch. The FSM has the test procedure to check if it's functioning as it should.......

I checked the grounds at the front. That's doesn't seem to be the problem...

capn, from the looks of the wiring harness, its just 2 wires for that light. It connects to the red wire on for the high beam and then goes to ground thru a fuse. sound like you got a shorted wire somewhere in line.

Yup, pretty straight forward. I HATE wiring deamons so I'm just going to swap out the entire harness on Sunday. I've done this enough that it'll only take me about 4 hours...
