what is the length diffrence on stock axles on a 85 CJ 7 D30 and M20 and the D60 from a 85 Dodge? I can get a pair pretty cheep and was wondering if I'd need to shorten them? Or if I can just get a rim with a offset to keep the width?

Pretty big, full width axles will make you a bunch wider
I think the stock CJ axles are 55-56" and FWAs are ~69" wide, so your wheel face will be 6.5" wider per side, plus if you upgrade and run wider tires you will be wider yet...

If they need to be shortened what would it cost? where could i get it done? I'm in MN. I doubt I have the skills to do it.

Why would you want to shorten them? Wider is better....haven't you seen the commercial?
