I'm putting my steering knuckle back together and the haynes manual is calling for chassis grease in the CV joint. Isn't it supposed to be a high temp grease? The only grease I have is wheel bearing grease...is that a bad idea?

High temp wheel bearing grease is what you should use.

What Tusker said. I'd recomend Mobil 1 synth grease (#28) as first choice, and blue marine wheel bearing
grease as second choice for all the greased bearings and joints in a zuk. It doesn't wash out as easy.
Save the ordinary grease for the wifes car or bicycles.

I also highly recommend the Mobil-1. Since switching to it many years agoI haven't lost a bearing or U-joint. Even with all the water wheeling I do.

Thanx all...the brand didn't matter to much cuz that axle is getting pulled shortly. I just had to get the thing moving so the swap can get started..the kingpin races are shot
