In my experiance they are getting to be unsafe at 48" (Tippy)carry a ratchet strap and tie the axle to the frame if you need to change a wheel/lift it up. ALOT safer that way in my mind. If you want a 60" just don't jack up the truck around me.
You may want dedicated jack points with ridges welded in so it will not slip out from the bumpers/rockrails. I need to do that to the ww3.

Everytime I have to use a 48" one I am scared it is going to fall over on me. Come to think of it, it has.....

Get brave here fellas... It doesn't need to get max'd out. Granted 5' is a lot, but not that bad. If it is used smart it's okay.

FYI You can just buy the new parts to make ANY lenght Hilift
Direct from the company. quick shipping and good prices. I think it was 20.00 or so for a replacment after I bent the
tower on mine. (Don't ask.) I bought a 36" first (Brain dump and then reordered a 60" (Over kill) and just cut it down to
48" after I woke up.

I had the same sort of "Issues" with M/L so I had the epithiny about the strap.. Duh.
