Ok I got a 16v coming and I am undecied on the trans the one i can get readily is a 4 spd Auto (which means I need the computer) since it would basically be 100% kick I would not have to do anything to the wiring harness (input??) or should I find the 3spd auto and convert the harness and be done with it I was told i need the kick computer in order for the 4spd auto to work properly,,

The 4 speed is computer controlled. The 3 speed auto is not.

Im kind of in the middle of something related to this, Rockrat. I am putting together a Tracker and Sidekick this weekend and have access to an Auto Trans. Until I can actually get my hands on the AT I am not going to know if it's a 3 speed or a 4 speed. The truck its coming from is/was a 95 Tracker 16V and doesn't have an ECM.

So in my case, if the trans turns out to be a 3 speed I will use it in my new DD Trackick (95 Tracker body/ 89 Sidekick running gear) but if it's a 4 speed I am going ot sell it. I already have interested parties, even.

hope this helps.
