Clocking the 300 and Flat skidplate

327 Views 3 Replies 1 Participant Last post by  **DONOTDELETE**
I just ordered my adapter today for the Ford T-18 and Dana 300 swap I'm doing on my CJ7. If I clock the 300, will I have to cut into the floor with a 1" body lift? I would also like to run a flat skidplate and get rid of the funky, hanging down stock one. What tranny mount can I use? I know this has been done, so any hints or tips (websites?) would be helpfull. Thanks!

Trying to keep my driveshafts out of the sun. ;o

The tunnel clearnance issue will depend on your setup. I am swapping in a 4.3L V6 and my engine/trans combo moved forward a few inches, so I did have to cut a clearance hole in the floor, I have a 1" body lift. My new skidplate is flat.

Hey thanks. I have been to your site before, lots of good info there. Have you finished the install yet? Any pics?

Clocking and the skid plate are done, though everything is out on the garage floor as I continue working on the 4.3L swap. My second child was delivered 6 weeks ago, so garage time has been limited recently. I hope to have engine/trans/tc back in the jeep in a week or 2.

There are pictures of whats involved in clocking the TC on the website, and a believe a picture or 2 of the skid plate also. When I get things back in, I'll take another picture of everything installed and post it to the website.
