CJdave,...

I saw that your other halve is a ZJ, have you done anything to that as well? Thinking of getting a GC myself but I can already feel the "gotta-change-it-to-make-it-better-vibes" starting!

Cheers!

]laugh] You know, Bob.....we actually SPENT MORE TIME on the ZJ BEFORE we got it than we have since. Yep....all I have ever done to this GC is install a hitch and the trailer wiring, and at 90 K I had to replace a leaky tranny fluid line. BEFORE WE GOT IT....I spent three weeks at least in my spare time poring over the specs to get the "perfect" ZJ for our job.....which of course was driving twisty mountain roads in SNOW! We hit it right on! Everything we ordered was perfect for us. We were adamant about keeping the weight down, so no skid pans;....we needed good fuel mileage so we got the highest gears;...we DID NOT order the trailer hitch with the Jeep because they only come with low gears/wwwthreads_images/icons/frown.gif and that pukes away fuel. We only tow occasionally, and I'm pretty aware of how to handle the Jeep when towing to I don't burn something out. I routinely get 21 MPG up here in the rocks and trees, and if I really concentrate, 25 MPG is easy to get on flat ground. Ours is a Laredo 4.0 SELECT-TRAC(best case for snow EVER!)automatic(w/Overdrive...29% over)and NO flip out rear window/wwwthreads_images/icons/frown.gif

/wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif thanks for the "heads up" Dan... I'll have to go over there and see. Somehow, it's OPEN SEASON on the CJ, but when it comes to the ZJ, it seems like....BLASPHEMY.....to touch it. Wierd huh?/wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gifEven my moonguys/wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gifhave a "hands off" policy with regards to the ZJ./wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gifI sometimes wish they felt that way about beer./wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif

/wwwthreads_images/icons/blush.gif Jim.....I'm embarassed at how little I know about the ZJ. I got to carrying a Haynes in the ZJ now so when ever I have some time on the road or when I'm waiting on something, I get it out and read up/wwwthreads_images/icons/blush.gif

Nothing to be embarassed about, Dave/wwwthreads_images/icons/cool.gif. My Haynes manual was so greased up and plenty of dog earred pages that I went to Pep Boys and bought another copy. Did I throw the old one out??....NO WAY...I had jotted notes in the margins and made addenda to the vacuum diagrams. So the old beat up copy rides in the Cherokee all the time as part of the tools I carry, just like any prudent Jeeper would. The new one stays near my bed side table./wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif

[laugh} You know, Jim....I suspected that you were doing that....your post times suggested it. Well, I'm in the middle of this HUGE report. I fills a 1" three-ring binder almost completely with the eight chapters. SIX different facilities....the main hospital and five sattelites(sp), all with generator power.....SHEESH! I'm tired of typing on it!/wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif
