CJ/YJ Hard top

I was wondering just the opposite. Will a hardtop or softtop from a YJ fit a CJ7?

Yes, they are interchangable. With the CJ top on the YJ, it is just a little tricky closing the tailgate and liftgate on the top without a swingout tire carrier. You have to start closing the tail gate, and then place the liftgate between the door and tire before closing them both.

My 85 CJ7 came with the snaps to attach the softop to, but the previous owner had bought a Bestop softop which attaches thru the guide channels. I guess you have to buy the hardware depending on the softop you use. If the Wrangler does not have the snaps (which I doubt it does) then you need the guides. Hope this helps.
