Hi guys

normally i am reading on the SWB forum....
but i am planning to do a engine swap in my CJ7.

i was thinking about using the GC 4.7 V8 engine and transmission.
maybe also the transfercase....( if i am forced to )

would like to keep the Dana 300 i have in the CJ today.

have any of you heard about some that has done a swap with this engine..

my worries are that the electrical issues that might be in the computers
transmission, stering lock, speedo...

i really hope that someone has done this before ... i would like to find out if this is dooable..or if i should do a chevy swap instad...

Do you have a 4.0 in it currently? Why not do a stroker 4.5, 4.6 or even a 4.7. Cost wise should be fairly close to what you would expend trying to mod to fit, if not cheaper. Lot's of info on the subject to be had.

I agree with sniper.

Rebuild your 4.0 and throw a big crank in there, and you'll have more torque. Spend some time and money on the cyl head, with a cam and you'll gain some horsepower to go with your torque.

Not to mention the lack of headaches you are getting into with a late model swap.
