CJ-7 Frame Weight

Anyone know what the this would be, fully stripped? I want to pick one up but only have a GMC Jimmy (no trailer) and am hoping it can be loaded onto the roof rack on top of the Jimmy. Any ideas/opinions?
thanks,

Since nobody seems to know I'll take a guess. I have a frame from a '72 CJ5 and my guess is that it weighs around 150 to 200 pounds. The CJ7 frame is longer and is fully boxed where mine is only boxed in the engine compartment so I would add another 50 to 100 pounds. I would definitely find a trailer! You could put it on the roof but securing it to a roof rack would be risky at best. One idiot pulling out in front of you, you slam on the brakes, and the frame becomes an instant missile. No thank you. Find a friend with a trailer or rent one for a day.

yeah i'd say you're right. if i do work it out i plan to rent a trailer. only problem is open trailers from uhaul aren't usually available for one way rentals.
thanks

I'm not sure of the exact weight, but it couldn't be that much. I have a couple fully boxed CJ5 frames that I have picked-up and moved from one side of my property to the other. They where heavy, but I did it myself and I only weigh 165 lbs........I'm no brute./wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif
