I have a 2000 Warrior and I am looking for cheap ways to gain performance. I am working on the pipe and header, but that is not cheap by any standard. While I am waiting on the funds to do the exhaust, what are some other things I could be doing? I have heard about drilling the air box cover and I am concerned about extra trash entering the carb and cylinder. Any help would be appreciated.

hey the chepeast way is to go and trade it off for a 300 ex

about a month or two ago i had a choice of a warrior and a 300 ex well guess what the ex beat it from the start and had more top speed

i hope you know your quad right now does not go 60 -65

like most people think

they go around 50-55 top end

but if you want it to go faster i wouldnt put the holes in the air box or les you are pro racing but just for A trail i would get a power core or a white brothers e series

the reason why i know that about the warrior
we had lots of people come to are county far and they had those and about 90 percent of are ex riders won and the other that lost coulnt really drive one

but if you want it to go faster you are going to have to buy a new rev for it

if i was you i would not bore you motor out any for a long long time

but that is just me

not that i knoe anything about the quads performance or anything but from my experience the warrior is faster than the 300ex...anyway i would highly recomend that you get the pro design clamp on filter kit for it before you do anyhting else!!! the stock air filter setup sucks (dirt)!!!!

not trying to start a pissing contest, but i've never EVER seen a stock cc 300ex beat a warrior anywhere top,middle or off the start. And i had a stock geared 440ex that would eat one off the line, but eventually the warrior would catch me and we would draft one another but neither one could pull after 64mph. To answer the post, you can put about six one inch holes in top of the airbox, after you do the exhuast, put a 148 main depending on your elevation. Good luck. Marc

the stock main is a 145 so you will want to go larger than a 147 main with a pipe...i have a 157 main in my piped and no air box lidded warrior

Warrior, i'm sure that you know that the need for your 157 main jet is due to the fact that you run an open air box. My diagnosis is pretty close for the application that i suggested as long as he is 3000ft or below in elevation. Marc

ah yes, what i forgot to say is that FMFs jetting chart suggests a 150 main..thats why i thought it was low

in my expeiance I found that its worth the money to get ahold of a DYNO-JET kit they are around $100.00 as aposed to the $6.00 or $7.00 you will spend on one jet , but you will get ALL the info you need to do the job RIGHT , you will get not only several sizes in jets but you will get differant meatering rods as well, if you want to make your quad just run better then go with jets only, if you want it to HAULASS then do it right/wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gifGO WITH THE DYNO-JET kit

wow 100 bucks seems alittle much to me...maybe its because i am the god of jetting haha or maybe its just cuz my dealer gives me the jets i need for free..i dont know...

I jetted mine the way you do yours , it ran great, then I spent the money on the DYNO-JET kit WOW MAJOR differanceso like I said if you want it to run good jet it, if you want it to run GREAT, DYNO-JET it
