I've got a bad lifter in my 258 so I need to remove it. Do I have to pull the head to do it or will the lifter fit out throught the head?

You must remove the head.

Yep, pull head, sometimes I wish I had the 4cyl to replace lifters w/o taking off head. Naaah Guess I'll keep the 6, but it allows you the opportunity to check the valves!

OK well I'm lazy and want to go on one last trip before our rivers close, so I'm gonna wheel it like it is then fix it. Might swap on a 4.0 head at the same time.
