Carb Question

I've got a rebuilt Pony from DannyL, had it for about 6 months waiting for Zuk carb to die, but it just keeps on chugg'n along and I have no compaints regarding it's performance. Aint gonna fix it, if'n it aint broke yet. My questions are: What happens to the ECM unit after you install a Pony or Weber carb? What's left for it to control??

Shouldn't be anything left for it to control.

I never took mine out after I put on my Pony.

hhmmm.....

Anyone want to buy a used ECM out of a 88.5 Zuk?

The ECM does not serve any purpose when you swap carbs. I left my wiring intact because I may want to swap the Weber into one of my other Zuks someday and the ECM is not hurting anything.

I've pondered this myself. I've been meaning to disconnect the pigtail from the distributor to see what happens but never remember to do it. It seems like there is always something else needing attention. I would think that it still has some control over the distributor.
