normal twinsticking of the the dana 300 yields
rear low
front low
4 hi
4 low
but doesn't allow for front high, right?
I also thought someone once posted that it could be modified to do it, by removing a part. well I'm gonna have the t-case open soon and was wondering if there was any truth to it.

thanks

From looking at shift patterns and descriptions.. I got the idea that you get

Stick One: FWD, RWD, 4WD.
Stick Two: Low, High, Neutral.

Combinations?

FWD - LOW
FWD - HIGH
FWD - NEUTRAL

RWD - LOW
RWD - HIGH
RWD - NEUTRAL

4WD - LOW
4WD - HIGH
4WD - NUTRAL

Of course, All three Nutrals are just nutral... so you get

Front and Rear - LOW
Front and Rear - High
4wd - Low and High.
Of course neutral.

7 options.

I think.

On a D-300, the left stick controls the rear drive, the right stick controls the front drive.
Without opening the case, you can get all options except frontdrive high.
You can open the case to remove the interlock pill and get front drive high, but that also means you could accidently get front high and rear low, or rear high and front low, which would probably lead to broken parts.
I wheel a twin stick D-300, and have never found a need for front drive high only.
Do it if you want, but I consider it a waste of time, that has the possibility of being a bad thing.
On occasion my son and my GF drive the Jeep, and the thought of them doing the wrong thing sends shivers up my spine.

you make a good point. I hadn't much thought about getting the ends in opp. ranges. and having more options is just the type of guy that I am.

LEVE:
I saw that one, and Jeepgod's got a good write up on his site too with lots of clear info.

BLEH.

This is like a horrible multipule choise.

My gut said left is rear, right is front... then I go read something else and second guessed myself.

good to have that all squared away.

IF* You have manual locking hubs on a full float rear, it would be well worth wile to have front high..

Could be invaluable many times after breakage.
