Is it possible to by-pass the computer and run the distributor right off of the ignition module? I have an '88 YJ, weber carb, TFI upgrade, and no emissions stuff except the 02 sensor(mainly for my air/fuel ratio gauge). If keeping the computer will help the Jeep run its best and keeping it is the best route, than I'll keep it. But I don't at all mind doing the work to get it out of there. I thought it was there for that stepper motored carter carb. And with the weber, I can't see a reason for keeping it besides if it does something for my distributor that my module can't do alone. Opinions, please? Thanks

LEVE wrote in a post on google,
1. Yes,
2. Simply identify the wiring from:

The Distributor
The Igniton Module.
The Sensors to the ECM

3. Once identified,
4. All wiring to the ECM can be removed from the wiring harness.
5. Then the ECM and mass of wriing can be removed.
6. There should be more than enough OEM wiring,
7. To do the bypass without running new wiring.

that is his exact post. Can anyone explain how to identify the wiring and what to look for? I don't want to mess it all up and end up with more problems. I have confidence that I can do it I just need a push in the right direction. Thanks
