Does anyone know of a bucket / bench seat that will fit into the front of a 82 CJ5? I want to take the kids
out next year and would feel safer with the little one in the front with me... Thanks for the imput.

/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif There WAS one shown in a catalog that we have here. Now it's just a matter of figuring out WHICH catalog. I believe it was a 60/40 setup./wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif

What's wrong with you?! You want to put the child in the front seat???? Don't you know that your
government says to put children in the back seat so that when the little rugrats manage to put
something in their mouth and choke to death it won't bother your driving? And you know your
government is always right and is only acts in your best interests. I almost choked on that!

They came in the CJ-10a and a few CJ-5's. I have one that I bought used a few months ago that I might be willing to sell if I don't use it. I've heard that the seats from most mini-pickups can be adapted to work as well.

Our '79 CJ7 had the 60/40 front seat. The passenger side was the "40" and tilted forward just like the bucket seats did. It was nice.

That was the Jeep I rolled on Thanksgiving day 1979. Our 10 month old son was snugly strapped in THE BACK SEAT in his little car seat. Mom was back there with him. She hit her head on the roll bar and was out cold. The pumpkin pie that was in the back of the Jeep was all over everywhere. including my wife's hair (I thought it was her brains). Our Collie went through the windshield, but was hardly hurt. Actually the windshield wasn't broken till the old guy in the LTD went by slowly gawking and ran over it.

I got that Jeep fixed and it had the shiniest paint job I ever saw on a Jeep. It was better than new.

I'm rambling on, aren't I? Funny how you can remember some things like they happened yesterday......

Sorry about your unfortunate incident loosenut but still that's the funniest thing I've seen since Laugh-In
got cancelled. I laughed so hard about you thinking the pumpkin pie was her brains, I had to take my
glasses off and wipe my eyes. Then I got to the windshield wasn't broken until the LTD ran over it. If
you've got any more like this, ramble on.
