Bronco II crankshaft pully removel trouble

Hey now guys, I can't seem to get the balancer pully off the crankshaft. I'm using a pully puller but I have ruined two sets of bolts. I noticed the crankshaft has a long bolt that looks at first glance to hold the pully on but it just bottoms out aginst the crankshaft. Do I need to heat the pully??? Thanks in advance

That bolt has a washer that holds the pulley on.

You have to pull the bolt & washer, and then reinstall the bolt for the puller to push against.

But you might find you can pull it off by hand...

Ya got me - I never had a problem with a 2.3L, 4.9L, 5.0L, or 5.8L.
