Hey now guys, I can't seem to get the balancer pully off the crankshaft. I'm using a pully puller but I have ruined two sets of bolts. I noticed the crankshaft has a long bolt that looks at first glance to hold the pully on but it just bottoms out aginst the crankshaft. Do I need to heat the pully??? Thanks in advance

Re: Bronco II crankshaft pully removal trouble

actually you would want to stick a smaller diameter and locnger bolt into the pully, it will rest against the bottom of the hole, using the pulley's bolt could damage threads.

2.9L is easy give me a second and ill find the directions.

First take out the bolt. Second runa rod into hole for puller to rest against. third give rod a sharp rap from a hammer. four start to use puller to pull off pulley forcing against the rod. Should come off. You dont want to heat it do to warpage.

also use grade 8 bolts in your puller
