How many Banshee owners have broken their shift lever, and what did you do about it?

I just broke mine this weekend. Im calling Yamaha to see what they charge for a new one. Id really like to have the Pro Design Billet shifter, but the cheapest price i found was $80!

The stock one is pretty spongy feeling. I have ridden a few Banshee's that have the billet shifters on them and they do make a difference. I would say worth the $80. Try Cascade at 503-663-2887 for thier Gear Slammer.

The stock one can be reinforced by re-welding it and then welding a stiffener down the length of the shifter. A small piece of round stock, about 3/16" works good. Run a good bead from the lug that slips over the shift shaft down the stiffener rod.

Been there, broke that. I put another stock one back on too.
$70.00-$80.00 for a trick one will have to wait. I kept the
broken pieces (now 2pc unit)and hope to find time to repair
and keep it around as a spare.
