/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif Hi Tyler. I asked my moonguy/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif who is a wiring specialist on CJs, and he tells me that the bulbs used in the tail lights of your CJ are dual filament bulbs. There is a big heavy filament for the stop light, and a smaller filament that is the tail light. He recommends that you get a replacement bulb # 1157 and put it in. At the same time, check the other bulbs as well....the side marker, which is a teensy bulb, and the backup light bulb, a big, single filament bulb. He also says you owe him and his little moonguy buddies/wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/laugh.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/cool.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif a case of brew./wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif

There are seperate contacts for the bright and dim filaments, if the bright one is corroded it will not work. If you can remove both covers, swap the bulbs and see if it works, if not it's the contacts, if it fixes the left side, buy a new bulb.
