I'm looking to buy some mx boots. I was wondering if there is a big difference between a $150 pair and a $300 pair? I'm a weekend rider, but I ride a lot. Thanks for your opinions.

I bought the $150 boots and they are good, but I hate the supid plastic buckles that pull out way to easily. It would have been worth the extra 150 for the better buckles etc. If you can spare the extra $ spend it. If it is the difference between upgraded boots or some other toy for bike, get the toy.

Alot of times the $300 boot is more than twice as good as the $150 boot....... You get what you pay for.

try shopping around for a pair of "last" year boots or even a used of $300 boots, a lot of Moto guys replace them when they get scuffed and you can pick them up cheap

Look for "top grain" or "full grain" leather. Split grain WILL crack. So will the other if you don't take care of it.

I have tried on the Thor t-30 boots. They are nice but they are very narrow. That would get uncomfortable after a while. I think the best boot for the money is the Alpine Star Tech 4. Very comfortable boot. Always think ahead. You will want to race some day!

I have a pair of Tech 6's and an old pair of Thor something or other, the Thors are way comfortable, well broken in. The Tech 6's feel more protective, but maybe thats just because even though I've had them well over a year, I've only worn them a couple times. The very first time I crashed pretty good and bent the metal toe plate up pretty good and had to beat it back to shape. I need to order a replacement and fix it right.
