Can the body be raised to put in new rubber mounts without unhooking stuff? Do any zuke vendors sell stock height replacement mounts or is there something else I can use?

Funny thing, the passenger sides are deteriorated more that the driver side...it leans a bit (drives me nuts)

I've been eye'n these poly units at Rocky Road for $84 Poly Body Mount Kit
Can't say how hard it is to install them so you go first then let me know (LOL) besides I have my master bath torn apart right now and can't work on anything else but that. Ahh but when thats done I'm going to be golden and then its back to sprucing up the Sammi........eh, eh, eh.

Outlaws, those poly mounts are the exact consistency as the New rubber mounts will be. so put to rest your conserns about them they are the way to go and really make a huge difference. side note (I realize that you are not spending very much time being conserned about it. right?)

please believe me on this, I spent way too much time comparing "in hand" the two, poly or rubber, and the poly mounts are superior to the stock mounts that will come off any samurai or stock replacements (new). They are not the same poly hardness as what you and others have seen with the t-case mounts and other poly products that are being used for the samurai's.

I have been driving my samurai with these poly mounts for now a year and they are still soft as can be. as Crow said, gone are the squeeks, groans, body shifting, and other mystery issues that you may or may not be aware of with your samurai. I did not think that my mounts were that bad, till I replaced them with these poly ones, and I felt like I was driving a new rig again. It really made that much of a difference.

Toyguy, replacing your body mounts are very easy. I know the poly kit comes with very detailed instructions for being able to get them installed quickly and easily, the only hard part is getting the originial nuts loose to start the swap. patience and lots of penetraiting oil.

hope this helps

when I did my body swap a couple months ago I took the best stock body mounts from the two sets to use with the new body/old chassis arrangement.

Even doing that the difference is amazing. Add that to a freshly screwed together truck that hasn't been bounced off rocks for a couple years and it's nice and quiet, too. I swear riding in the softop with the roof off is even quieter than the hardtop was.
