I just completed a search and had several hits. It also raised a question.

I noticed that people are pretty much using 2 body lift kits on these Jeepsters. A 1972-1986 CJ7/5 body lift (with 12 pucks) and a mid 1970's Cherokee/Wagoneer body lift (with 12 pucks). I do know that there are 12 body mounts on the Jeepster tub alone. It looks like the "Performance Accesories" kits come with the hardware too.

Which kit fits the best and will the hardware work? Are there any Pros and Cons for either kit?

Would it be just as easy (and cheaper) to order the body mount bushing stick (in the 24 inch length from 4wd.com) and cut them myself?

I'm looking at a 3 inch kit. That should give me enough room for the 38x12.50x15 Super Swamper SX Radials that are coming my way!!

or order up 13 blocks from here: www.4wheelparts.com/product2.asp?imseqn=1399
and get your bolts elsewhere as the thread counts are different than cj. You'd have to buy new bolts anyway, or get a jeepster kit. (prothane 1-108 maybe?)

Some of the guys reported linkage and steering shaft problems going over 2" on the body lift...not sure myself. I think you need 13, for the one under the radiator.

Also, what d44's are you using?

This stuff is rubber not hard plastic, if you read the fine print it say it is for use on fiberglass bodies only. It is for bushings not for lift.

My front Dana 44 is a GM housing that I cut down to fit wide track Wagoneer axle shafts. I used a GM becused of the spring over pearch already in the pumpkin side of the diff, then ground it to the angle I needed for the pinion. Dodge outter flat top knuckles & spindle and a Ford hub and rotor give it a 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern and a 65 inch track width.

The rear is (unaltered) out of a 1970 2x4 International 1/2 truck. It is 65 inches wide, has 11x2 drums and is already 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern!

I have them bolt geared at 4.56 and locked with ARB air lockers.

Thank you for the info. I was not leaning towards using that stuff anyway.

Thank you for the info. I was not sure if the CJ Jeeps used the same bolt size or not.

I think I will get some of those replacement bolcks on order!

Stock bolts are 7/16"-20 x 2" long for stock size. Note that these are fine thread bolts. Also requires large washers top & bottom and tube through the two body mounts in case all that stuff is not there.

Would it be safe to stack 2-3 of the original body mounts in order to get some lift. If done this way should I use the metal washers in between? I plan on doing a graduated lift, just to level it out a little. Any tips

I BELIEVE that the stock mount might be too soft to stack like that. Maybe you could order some 3" pucks (see link above) and cut them down to wahtever size you needed at any given mount. You could get 3 1-inchers or 2 1.5-inchers out of each puck, and taper them any way you wanted. Probably cheaper than multiple stock bushings, too.
