I want to put a 2" body lift on the Zuk, but can't for the life of me figure out how to get the 4 near the outside middle off. They have nuts on the bottom that unscrewed fine and they don't appear rusty. The Hayne's manual shows nothing. Anyone have an idea or a pic so I can see how they're attached? Are they bolts or studs? I tried double nutting them assuming they were studs, but they won't come out. Can anyone help?

Jeepn, they are studs with nuts on them...they are attached to the body and will lift out of the frame holes when you lift the body up.

If it helps, all the body holders are studs attached to the body except the 2 front and 2 rear ones which are bolts. If I remember correctly, there are 6 studs on the body, all between the tires.

Did the same thing about 2 months ago, make sure you hit everything with PB blaster,it will make your life easier! As for the studs, extentions come with the kit for re-assembly,with the poly bushings.Any futher help, please ask!!!!You will need one other person to help lift the body up,Install the center bushings first under the cab from the inside out.once you have the middle done it makes the front and back easier....good luck MATT~

Stud "extensions"? Why does that not sound strong?

Anyone have a pic of an old one laying around? I still can't quite grasp the concept. How do they "lift out"? Shouldn't I be able to unscrew it from the bottom if it's a stud?

Amazingly enough, none of the bolts are rusted at all on mine, the body has a lot of rust on it, but the bolts are fine. Go figure. With all the salt on the roads up here it's amazing they're OK.

if im thinking correctly, its a stud thats welded onto the body... when you lift the body, since the stud is attacehed to it, it will lift out of the whole... you wont be able to unscrew it because its mounted permanently to the body...

i think thats how it is, let me know if im wrong

So maybe I should just drill the thing completely out and install a long bolt?

Where would I find these "stud extensions" that are mentioned. NAPA didn't have a clue as to what I was talking about.

I'M DOING A HOMADE 2" ER ON MINE AND I BOUGHT SOME 2" OD BOX STEEL AND DRILLED A HOLE ALL THE WAY THRU. I'LL PUT THE OLD STUDS THRU THE TOP AND BOLT EM AND PUT A REGULAR NUT AND BOLT THRU THE BOTTOM TO THE FRAME. SEEMS EASY ENOUGH, IT'S ALREADY SITTING ON THE 2" BLOCKS , JUST HAVENT DRILLED EM YET. ONCE THEY ARE IN PLACE, I WILL WELD THE 2" BOX TO THE OLD MOUNT. THIS SEEMS TO BE ALOT STRONGER THAN THE EXTENDERS!!! P.S. GET GRADE 8 BOLTS

87 sammy project in the works. getting chevy luv motor/ato tranny this week. lots o mods coming soon. i'll pst pics on em.
