here's the nitty-gritty, i gotta '85 f150, 8.8 rear & some kinda dana 44 front(?). i'm running 33's & a np435 tranny. the original (current) ratio is 3.08:1.
the question is, whats a good combo - 4.10's with a ??? brand locker in the rear? i figure i'll do as much highway time as i do off-road, so i dont wanna setup for rock-crawling!!

If you are staying on the road mostly I would stay away fom the 4.10 and go to a 3.55 or a 3.73 especially because you have the NP435.

I have 4.9L (300-I6), NP-435, 8.8 w/3.08 & 32's. This ratio works for me. If you want more than an Auburn LS

Your diff carrier is open, so you could install a mini-locker

BTW Your front is the Dana44 IFS "Twin Traction Beam" (TTB).

yeah - i'd love to afford an arb, but that's not gonna happen anytime soon . . .
sticking w/ the 3.08 will save me some $$ by not changing the front, so that's probably what i'll do for now 'till i get a little more experience!
i know the detroit is popular, but i've read it's a little harsh on the street.?

I saw a 3.54 D44 third with the ARB over on MBB for $600.
