Thanks for checking out my post.

I have a pretty big head. I went to Fleet Farm (a hardware/home improvement store in Wisconsin) and tried the Raider XXL helmets on. They barely fit, but with a balaclava, it would never fit. Do most snowmobile riders wear a balaclava under their helmets? I just got my 1st sled a few weeks ago and want to be ready for when the season starts. I'm concerned my neck would get cold w/o some protection. Any advice?

I would suggest wearing a balaclava for sure. the only place that usually is exposed or has the fewest layers is your neck.

If you need some different ideas for helmets and gear give our parts guys a call they have some different option for larger helmets. I know that HJC makes a XXXL, we ship product everywhere. I know that all the manufactureres have sizing charts so maybe measure your head before calling so we know how big you would really need.

And HJC helmets run big to begin with - like they are intended to wear a balaclava or similar liner. Easily a full size bigger than any other brand we've tried.
