Big Block in 83\'?

A friend wants to know if he'll have to lift the motor mounts with a spacer plate in order to run a 72' 454 from a 72' Vette, putting it in a 83' Chevy 1/2 ton truck using the headers from a 83' 454 that came from a 3/4 ton truck. He's having clearance problems from the headers to the frame. There's only room enough to slip a dime between them. He don't want to have to notch the frame, so can he lift the mounts with a spacer plate without problems?

get new motor mounts (for a bbc) prob solve the prob if not sure put in a 1/4 inch spacer ...... my ds manifold on my bbc pu is about the same distance from the frame .....hasn't caused me any probs (that's the side that lifts when you accelerate)

im not sure that would work.because the motor mounts are
set at an angle, putting a spacer under them would actually
move them closer to each other, and lift them at the same time, i would just get the right headers for that truck,

It'll move them in a little but while it may take a little effort it will still be possible to get the motor mount bolt in ...... Not the best way to do it but if ya have more time than money.......
