BFG Mud-terrain 285\'s on stock suspension?

Ok, I've read that some of you have put up to 295's on your stock '01 Z71s but will BFG Mud Terrain 285's fit?

Re: BFG Mud-terrain 285\'s on stock suspension?

From what I've heard the 01's wheel well and suspension have roughly the same measurments as the 88-98's (which are known to handle 285's on the stock wheels). I have seen an 01 with 285's with no trouble. I think you can go bigger, but any offroading or good bumps and you may have rubbing. 285 is a good round number for almost any situation without rubbing. As always a different rim or larger tire may result in a need to trim.
