Better 3\" suspension???

I realize this subject has been discussed to death but...
It seems the biggest problem with the 3" susp. lift is crankin the T-bars and throwing the geometry of things out. I found this kit with a diff drop bracket. It seems to be a pretty complete kit,I already have a body lift which I would not do again and was considering this kit just to bring my truck up a little more. What do you guys think? 3" susp. lift Natl. Tire&Wheel

Looks like an OK kit to me, but I'm biased because it's similar to the kit I have on my truck, and with no problems. Especially good since it has diff drop brackets (and NEW torsion bars). Personally, I would go for it, but you're right, there is a ton of controversy over the 2-3" lifts.

(A good) 3" lift
*upper control arms make camber (still) adjustable
*new torsion bars will allow less cranking, they just start stiffer (if you wanted a smooth ride, you would have bought a car)
*diff drop bracket saves your CVs
*polyurethane is just great

I don't see why not to use it.

looks just like the 3" rough country lift I run on my 93, its not bad and didn't have to crank the torsion bars.

My only question is why are they giving you new Torsion bars? None of the other companys put new ones in their 4 or 6" lifts, it makes me think that you have to crank up the bars to get the lift and they give heavier bars so that they don't sag. Thats just my 2 cents.

they give you new torsion bars that are stiffer so you don't have to crank them up to get the lift. 4-6 lifts don't need them becuase they drop everything down so that all the angles are stock.

Im goin' for it. Now if I can find some one in my area to install at a reasonable cost! 35's are next.

Hey MSF, did you install your kit yourself or done by a shop... If by a shop about how much did it cost? Any info is appreciated. Was there any exhaust mods?

Whitetail, Take plenty of pictures for us when the lift is being installed. And of course some after with the new tires.

It was on the truck when I got it. But minus installing torsion bars (which I don't have the equipment to do), the rest is a pretty simple install. No exhaust mods necessary. Have fun with it and definitely take pictures before and after lift and tires.

Install it yourself. Its only about a 4 hour job by yourself. Oh, i have the 3" Skyjacker lift for the 88-98 half ton if anyone wants it. It will probably need new bushings though.
