I know this question must have been asked before, but I couldn't find it under the search. Anyways, I've got the wife's YJ in the garage and I'm installing a rebuilt TF 999 Trans, new exhaust, and other maintenance. It's a 91/4.0/Hard Top/ with a warn M8000. Otherwise it's stock. I've been after her for years to let me install a lift kit and she finally gave the OK with 2 stipulations: no higher than 4 inches and it can't ride too much rougher than it already does (it's her daily driver). While the Jeep's already in pieces, I figure this would be a good time to put on a lift. We do some mud-runnin in it here in Michigan but we also like to drive out to Moab. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Forget Skyjacker (No Offense). The best lift I have ever delt with is the Rubicon Express Extreme Duty 4 inch. I have it on my Jeep and am very pleased with it. BUT its very pricy, but its the best i know of.

Do you have any experience with OME? I am between those 2 and I only want the 2 1/2 in. lift. RE saves me a few bucks but I hear good things about both and nothing bad. Can't decide. AND I am one of those that likes to learn from others mistakes rather than make the same mistake over. Especially when money is involved.

Thanks for the input guys. Rusty's Off-Road: I'll have to look into that. I know the OME lift is pricey, but how much is the Rubicon Express?

I have the OME springs and they are very nice. I havn't got the OME shocks yet, but I am going to add the OME add-a-leafs to get a little more height. Might add the shocks then. Even with the stock "heavy duty off road" shocks it rides really well.

I like my lift. it was $925 with every thing. the kit used to come with shocks. done. the end. but don't mount the shocks upside down.
