hey guys i was thinking aout buying a little beater truck. i'm a ford guy so i was thinking a ranger. what should i look for? what years are better? and what's the ballpark price difference on 2 and 4 wheel drive rangers? what year was the last that came out with carbs?

If you can find one, get an 83 Ford Ranger 4x4. They had a straight front axle instead of TTB. I believe it was a Dana 35 axle.

All rangers are good rangers learing about what you buy is what matters. The all have their falts. And besides what do you need in a truck is what matters most. The last year that they used carbs I think was in 1984. I had a 85 and she was fuel injected but could easly be converted tocarb.
