yeah its pretty much unless you are 1x or driving a tt there isnt much mention.

 

Well the bad news for me is I am back at home! I lost something in the bottom end of the motor and only went 52miles. From what I know 10a was the first quad through check 1, followed close by 6a and 1A. Its really hard to get any news on the quads. Weatherman was really busy with other things. There was a head on with a chase truck down near Catavina and someone was killed. Lot of injured riders also.

 

Just did a Goggle search and found the class winners ... don't know the accuracy.

Class 25 -- 2A 23:xx:xx hours.
Class 24 -- 101A (I think only entry)

Erik, man thats a bummer. Was hoping to hear differently from you guys. The Martin team finished 1st overall and about 10min later John Gregory`s team finished. Ray Schooley finsihed 3rd a few hours later......

Was the bottom end issue a bearing?????

It sounds like a bearing.

Temecula had 3rd place and lost the engine 20miles before the finish! They had a 7min. lead in San Felipe and lost the chain. Yokley started for them, he can ride!

 

WOW! Thats gotta be painful. 20miles from the finish and lose the motor. Yokley is a machine. He kicked butt last year at the 03 LV200 doing it solo.

Yeah, I would like to know myself. We need to get more of the racers on here to post their stories, minimum! Its hard to get any of the quads stories. Seems like after the race we all clam up,LOL...... If anybody knows any of the other racers

, have them give a quick blurb on here and plug their sponsors..... Its so hard to get info on the Baja races. All kinds of stories on the cars and trucks, just not the quads and bikes....

 

Temecula lost there engine. This is Thigpen, Cafro, Yokley, Prather. Danny Prather was towed the last 20 miles and pushed the 650EX across the finish line and was DQed. You can not be towed the last mile to the finish!

I dont now what happend to the other Alba YFZ450 with Wayne Matlock. But they didnt finish either. When I broke the DS650 that won the Dakar rode up to me smoking the clutch. Looks like they fixed it and finished. When he stopped I asked him what was wrong with DS he said "I dont know I am not a mechanic" So I adjusted his tight clutch lever and told him to take it easy.

 

Thats too bad for the Temecula team. Man Id love to take a look at that 650X.

Thats somethign I dont understand... how can anyone race and not know hot to work ona bike?

LOL! I had to do something to kill time. I sat there waiting for someone to come get me from 8:15am till 4:30pm.

Broke down on the race course and there is a race going on! I was in a place were there was only one way in and out and that was on the race course. So they had to wait for the last race car till they could get in there. Not a bad spot though the checkpoint BBQed hamburges for me!

 

Burgers!?!?!? Youre in Bja!! They should have made some Mexican dishes!! Heheheh
