Bad Vibes!!

I have installed a T-350 in place of my worn out T-14A and am now experiencing a bad vibration that seems to be proportional to engine speed. When I shift the tranny into neutral at highway speeds and let the engine idle all vibes go away. I used a flexplate from a 300 buick motor, and I now am wondering if that might be the culprit? I removed the pilot bushing from the crank, and everything seemed to bolt up o.k. . I had the driveshaft proffessionally shortened and balanced. Any ideas?

I put a Chevy 350 in and i also put in a turbo 350 tranny, I have had the exact same problem you are having and never quite seemed to figure out, thought it was driveshafts, or wheels or engine balance. The only thing i can suggest is to look at your torque converter and make sure that everything is equall as far as the attach points go.
