Thanks. I'll keep that in mind when my new F-250 CrewCab T/D comes in next week.

Actually I've owned Chevy trucks all my life, six in row now. When I went shopping for a new Turbo-Diesel I found that I preferred the Ford better. They're all good trucks though. The Cummins and the Duramax are probably the more reliable choices, but when the Powerstroke is running right it'll kick a#@. And i don't like how the new Chevy/GMCs look anymore. Look too much like "grampa" trucks. The Dodges and Fords have more stylish apperarances.

I agree. I don't really have a problem with chevys, I was just raised to be a FORD man. My dad always had FORD vehicles growing up. I like the looks of them better for sure. Ever since the Dodge came out w/ that bull dog front end I have liked them. Then ford did something similar. Love it. I just bought an AWD Ford Explorer and it is great in the snow. Enjoy your new truck. For what there asking for one now a days I sure hope you like it.

Well this could be the answer to your mice post, put ya sammy under the wacth of a big "CAT" it is bound to drive them out
.
A Cat 793 weighs empty 147423 kg / 325010 lb and loaded 384000 kg / 846000 lb so not much will stand up to it.

fulltilt, i couldn't agree more! you know the 6.0 powerstroke is packin some heat when even a couple of the local gm mechanics drive them instead getting a durapuke..er..i..mean duramax cheaper with their gm employee discount.

in one of the 4x4 rags this past summer they had a diesel ford vs chevy vs dodge and the ford and dodge smoked the poor chevy. the chevy did have the most refined ride of the three though.

Growing up I was always a Dodge fan , the son of a Mopar racer can't do much else . Over the years I've learned a lot about all brands of vehicles if for no other reason than from working on them . Everyone has their preference , but when it comes to a work truck , I stick with what the serious and abusive contractors buy . We have nearby the largest pipeline company and buyer of Caterpillar equipment here in the world , Murphy Brothers . That company buys one brand of work truck , Ford . They buy so many 1 ton diesels in 4wd single wheel config's that they cause manufacturing problems in Ford's plant . First thing when they arrive , the mechanics torch off both bumpers and weld on 5" to 8" boiler pipe units with very large pull tabs on them to accomodate the cable winch ends on their D12 Cats . I've personally watched those idiots drag those trucks through creeks, over stumps , mud , and anything else that gets in the way and they just don't give up . To them , maintence costs and reliability are everything . Nothing lasts more than about 3 years, which is about how often they buy a new fleet . Ford should be paying them to make ads for 'em.... BTW, ever want to see a "Buy American" die hard puke ? Tell him his new Duramax diesel is made by Isuzu , most of 'em don't seem to know this .....hehe .
