I went for the beaches (snorkeling), but I also found some wheeling, not on sand, but heavy mud. I'm going to cover a few things here.
1st, we rented a jeep. Now I remember why I sold my 7 years ago, nothing changed. What I ride, my insides still hurt. Even if I dumped the 1 inch or so dia. swaybars I think it still would ride awful. No improvement over my old leafsrung wrangler YJ. Maybe lifted these do better. I don't know how much air I took out of the tires to make the riding more mushy, but it didn't work. Anyway, the first one we rented I was getting ready to drive it out on the beach....I pulled back on the Tcase lever and it felt like it was attached to nothing! Guess what? it was!!
Had to take the dam# thing back to the rental place as someone had pulled the lever hard enough to bend the attaching bar. POS.... My next one was blue!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Air down the tires MAJORLY, still rides like cra#! This one was going to see some mud, took it on some mountain roads, started pouring so hard, road turns to red muddy trail. Man, am I out in the jungle, good thing the trail is not too bad, put it in 4wd or I guess I did since a little light comes on saying "parttime"...didn't even want to mess with trying to get it in low, was afraid I might break something. I would not recommend these things. Oh yeah, I did break the lock on the center console right when I got in this one.
The Mud in Hawaii is awesome, so red, and thick, it cakes to everything , my blue Jeep was not blue when I returned it
But, it's good to be back, now tonight my softop goes on, going to make a real 4WD softop vehicle!
Oh yeah, one that rides much better too!!!!!!!!!!
will do pics to cover the install, I think it was riff-raff that has a sight that might be good to post the install, I've had a couple inquiries on softops now that summer is rolling around.
