The B&M kit is my second or third choice.
I prefer Trans-Go. We have less comebacks with Trans-Go, and you can make a Trans-Go do everything from firm up the shifts a little, to a full manual valve body.
In the B&M kit's defense, it does have really easy to follow instructions, and it does come with most of the stuff to a decent upgrade.
You do not have to take the transmission out. Depending on how hard you want the transmission to shift, you may have to take the valve body off the transmission housing, but that is just a few bolts. Just make sure you don't loose any check balls when you take the valve body off, and make sure you keep everything clean.
If you have any questions about the valve body or it's parts, get a transmission rebuild manual from the local auto-jerks store. That will tell you where everything goes, and how it goes together, in case it you forget, or something 'gets away'.
Hope this helps, Aaron.
When a fool and a wise man argue, onlookers can't tell the difference.
