Axle parts

Ok, my Jeep currently sports a set of Dana 44's that came from an International pickup truck. My problem is, I need new brake rotors, but the individuals at the local Napa claim they don't carry parts for that type of truck. Great!! And rotors from a Scout are somewhere around $145 each! My question is, are parts pretty interchangeable for these axles? In other words, could I use brake rotors from a Dodge (also uses dana 44 axles with a 5 x 5.5" bolt pattern.)? Or would it be possible to make rotors from a Dana 30 work on this axle? At the moment, I'm at a loss and can't enjoy my Jeep due to the fact I have no brakes. Thanks for any help offered.

I'm not sure if the bearings are the same, but I think the rotors from a 78-79 ford f-150 I know have the same bolt pattern but again not sure on bearings. When I priced those they were about $42 each. Steve

go with the 78-79 ford F-150. The bearing will be the same as well as the wheel pattern, and the price is cheaper. You can also use the stronger internal lock-out.

Thanks for the replies. I'll definitely give the Ford parts a try before shelling out $300 for rotors alone. I'm all for safety and everything, but that seemed like an outrageous price considering the alternatives (such as the Ford parts).

Call R&P at 503-557-8911. They sell the Scout 2 rotors for around $65 ea brand new in the box. nickmil.

When comparing prices on rotors, keep in mind some places sell the rotor and brake hub together. The manufactures recommend
changing the brake hub with the rotor which seems silly to me. I guess the reason is because the lug bolts can be less than perfect
when "pressed in" more than once. I did have to tack weld a lug bolt one time when reusing an old brake hub.

I am in the middle of a Scout II Dana 44 swap on my CJ7. I just rebuilt the front end on my model 30 so I am going to swap the knuckles onto the 44. It will bolt right on and then have jeep rotors, bearings ect. Hope this helps.
