I was driving around the other day, and came up with what may or may not be a doable Idea.
My CJ heater really doesn't do much in the way of heating, and I do tend to get real cold. So I was thinking that I may install a second heater. But I didn't want one that is electric. I wanted one that uses engine coolant, and has a fan. Like the stock Heater. But I am nto crazy about pulling the stock heater. Then it hit me.

Could I use my auto Trans fluid in a second heater in my Jeep. It seems like it could be a win win situation. I get an Auto trans cooler (somthing I have wanted anyway) and I get a little more heat in the winter. Plus the Auto trans cooler is In the Jeep where it is safe from sticks and rocks and stuff.

Do you think this would work, or am I barking up a tree with nothing in it.?

1. Not a bad idea, but
2. The plumbing would be easier,
3. Using a self contained,
4. Under-hood system,
5. From a [*]Waggy [*]Mid 70's to Mid 80's import pickup
6. The heat from an engine is regulated,
7. By the thermostat,
8. It's much more regulated.

It would be easy enough to hook a thermostat up to the blower motor that reads the tranny cooler temp. One of those little adjustable ones that goes between the fins of the trans cooler. You can pick them up at most auto-parts stores really cheap. Just add an on/off/auto switch to tell the blower when to run.
