well i sold my np435 and have a 4L80E auto to go in it's place (i am swapping in a vortec 350 too) and i have a question. what does swapping out the tail shaft on an auto tranny entail? does the tranny have to be torn completely down or can you just remove the tailshaft from the rear? thanks for any input. i have installed a couple of adapters in manual trannys but i have never delt with an auto so i am in new territory.

in a torquefligh its complete teardown, since the driven shells are part of the output shaft. ( it also comes thru teh front of the case)

on a GM tranny I can only speculate. but Id bet its complete dissaseembly
