LOL

Follow Randy closely. He's doing the OTT Kicker 3 install.

If you can scare up an auto Kick, and use the parts, you can go with the entire 1.6/tranny/t-case. This gives a lot of bang for the buck. As t-case gears won't be needed off-road.

With that same Kick donor, you can swap in the front gears, and use the rear axle to make a hybrid (fairly easy).

Sooooo, for the price of a used Kick, you would have a big-block, automatic, underdriven, low geared Sammy. Not to shabby.

yup, I am in the middle of my swap, its pretty strait forward. I didnt need a body lift or have to cut anything but I did have to (not so gently) move a little sheet metal to get it in there. It would be easiest to start with an automatic tracker for a donor. I have a Chevette trans (in pieces) on my work bench, I was gonna go that route but Glenns dual cases convinced me to go with the Kicker 3. You would like the auto.

The 1.6 8v is one of the best mods I've done so far....
Tim is right on Jim, get a Tracker/Kick and you got all the parts for a great rig!

I have this one. I only got the trans itself installed today, still need to hook up stuff. Now its time to put the cases in. I have them temp installed in this pic to see how things will line up. It looks like the sami case will be within 1/4" of its stock location. I will have more pics as I get the cases in. I have a few pics of the widened tunnel but they are too big to post here.

Zooky - a Kicker 3 and coil suspension? That rig is gonna rock.

Are you using a stock-geared Zuk transfercase behind the Kicker or one of the various reduced gearsets available? Also, whose coil kit do you have?

Tim, I'll let you know when I get more pics, its not difficult. Toughest part is getting it in the tunnel, then just bolt it all together.

thanks, I spent last summer working the bugs out of the suspension. Its Shaffers kit, customized for Cruiser axles. The sami case will have 4:16 gears, I think that will be low enough with the automatic

Hey Randy,

Thanks. You got any more of the parts that come with the kit, particularly the connecting shaft for the output/input? I'd like to see how this all works, maybe I could fab something similar on my own.

Thanks in advance,

Bob (with Tim typing)

the only thing you cant see in the pic is the coupler. Thats what you get, no instructions either but there is nothing special to installing it
