I was just curious if any of you are using LED tail lights in your Jeeps instead of the traditional light bulb kind. I've seen them lately on Fed-Ex and USPS delivery vans and they look really cool. They are supposed to work for 100,000 hours and be able to take vibration better. Sounds perfect for a Jeep. Did I mention they look cool? Here's a URL to a LED light sight:

I was going to get these when I recessed my lights and the big deterrent for me was the price. Something like $60 a piece for the ones I wanted. I went with the $6 trailer lights.

they are expensive, but they work extremely well. they are safer, this is due to they light faster than a bulb, are brighter, waterproof, and will still work even if several segments burn out.

Yep, I've been interested in those since I first read about them. The link you gave is somewhat confusing... can you get a tail light/turn signal combo, in one?

Heck, you can build one of those. Get you some 2 or 3 color LED's, certain voltages cause certain colors. Could have turn signals and brake lights in one unit. Would take some work getting them all together. A bunch of those bright led's will take some juice though, could possibly even require more than a light bulb depending on how bright you want them. Also, there are no "white" colored led's yet, that I know of (to use for reverse lights) so yea, you'd still be stuck with a bulb there.
Really does look cool though! Something to keep in mind for a future project, # 157 on the list.... !
