I want to swap a 231 buick into my 78 cj7 after getting adapter prices from Advanced adapters I was going to forget it, But now that I have my engine sitting next to my trany I was wondering what keeps me from making an adapter top bolt to the stock t-150 bell housing, and to a 231 buick, then getting the clutch and presure plate for the T-150 and the flywheel for the 231 and bolting it all tohether?? It seems that in theroy it will work but has anyone done anything similar??

97 TJ 31's and mostly stock but seeing what I can do about that..

I personally didn't do it, but the guy that built my T18 and D20 builds his own adaptors. Granted the adaptor for this swap is only 1" thick and simple looking he builds other ones for himeself as well.
